- By the tsunami (May 11), the school building sank in the water up to the ceiling of the 1st floor. It is impossible to give classes in the building.
It is also unavailable to make use of telephone, FAX, E-mail. For a while, taking the place of Kesennuma elementary school, the system of South Kesennuma elementary school works independently. Kesennuma elementary school（Address：3-1 Sasagajin Kesennuma-c TEL：0226-22-6966）
